I went to Caswell County Schools as a child and graduated from BY in 1996. I continued my education at Meredith College and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 with majors in Child Development and Family and Consumer Sciences. I continued schooling to earn teaching certificates and am now certified in 4 areas including: Elementary Education (K-6), Mentally Disabled (K-12), Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12), and Birth to Kindergarten.

I have taught 18 years in North Carolina and the last 11 have been in Caswell County.  I have taught Pre-K Developmentally Delayed, Self-contained, Regular Education, and Resource.  In 2016, I was awarded the Danville-Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year Award.

I live in Caswell County with my two children, a son who is 14, and a daughter who is 12. I am active in Caswell Local Foods Council and at my church. My parents were school teachers until they retired and their influence has helped me strive to help children learn as much as possible.
