Hi my name is Stephanie Hollifield and I am the Exploring Agricultural Science teacher here at N.L. Dillard Middle School.  A native of Rockingham County, I grew up in a rural, farming community where I learned to have a deep and abiding respect for agriculture.  As a child, I was raised on a hobby farm where we had horses, goats, chickens, guineas, cats, dogs, rabbits- you name it- we even had peacocks at one point!  My family would grow a large vegetable garden each year and you could always find me outside working in the yard, flower beds or traipsing about in the woods near my home.

My interest in plants and animals prompted me to take agriculture classes in high school where I furthered not only my knowledge of the ag. industry but my leadership skills as well through involvement in the National FFA Organization.  I attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina to obtain both my Bachelors and Masters of Science in Agricultural Education.

I began working at DMS in August 2011 and have had the opportunity to charter and serve as advisor of the DMS FFA Chapter.  Of all of my professional activities, I am most proud of the students I have been able to work with through the DMS FFA and I look forward to many more years of fun and exciting activities, field trips and coaching Career Development Event teams.

I currently reside in Rockingham County with my husband, Logan, and our 3 dogs.  My hobbies include reading, singing in the choir at my church, gardening, kayaking, hiking, yoga and taking road trips to places I read about in Our State magazine.
