Subjects Taught

My bachelors degree is in biology from Averett University.  I have a masters degree in Educational Leadership Administration Pre-K through 12 from Radford University.

I have 22 years teaching experience grades 8-12 and 9 years as a school Principal.  I retired from Virginia as Principal of Dan River Middle School in 2010.

In my 21 years of teaching, I have taught earth science and physical science at the middle school level.  At Dan River High school, I served as chairman of the science department, also taught biology, anatomy and physiology and advance biology 2.  I was Dan River High school's teacher of the year for 1993 and Pittsylvania County schools teacher of the year for 1993.  In addition I was Danville's Riverview Rotary's Educator of the year for 1993.  From 2000-2010 I served as a Principal in Pittsylvania County schools, until I retired in 2010.  My husband Earl and I have five children.  We enjoy fishing at Buggs Island and Hyco Lake in our spare time.
