Subjects Taught

I graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in English education. After teaching for several years, I chose to go back to school for a degree in Library Science. I graduated from NCCU in the summer of 2015 with an MLS in School Media.

This will be my 7th year at Dillard Middle School.  Previously, I taught Language Arts and Social Studies in both 6th and 8th grades.

I was born in Wisconsin, but my family relocated to North Carolina when I was only one year old.  If you were to ask me where I was from, I would proudly claim NC as my home state.  I grew up in rural Chatham County, about 20 minute west of the county seat, Pittsboro, in a small town called Bear Creek.  For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep love for the written word.  I can still recall the excitement when I finished reading the first book all by myself, Dr. Seuss' There's a Wocket in My Pocket.  It's still one of my favorite books.

One of the most important thing about me is that I am the kind of person that truly believes laughter is the best medicine; however, I also believe it's important to complete work on time so there is time for fun.

If there is ever anything I can do, student and parents/guardians, just ask.  I will be more than willing to do whatever I can.  So, let's make this a great year!!!
